The 36th Chrome Glidden Tour is 7/9-14/2017.
This tour of south-west Virginia by around 100, 1943 to 1992 registered autos will be a sight to see.
The morning of Friday 9/14/2017 (TOMORROW) they will roll into the Virginia Transportation Museum giving your eyes a treat both inside and outside the museum!
(Not to mention the huge and amazing collection of running historical trains from huge, early steam days, the famous J class 611, to diesel including the Bicentennial engine, specialty rolling stock, enormous model layouts, and oh ya there are rockets, planes, busses, and much much more!) Manufacturer: Studebaker
The President was the premier automobile manufactured by Studebaker during the 1927-1942 model years. The name was reintroduced in 1955 and used until the end of 1958.
1955 was the only year the President “Speedster” model was produced. A total of 2,215 were manufactured.
It was the forerunner of the famous Studebaker Hawk series.
Designed by Raymond Loewy
The Museum exhibit was owned and driven by Judge Beverly T. Fitzpatrick of Roanoke Virginia, father of the museum’s director, Bev Fitzpatrick.
