Local Pittsburgh artist Tom Mosser created the Grand Prix’s 2013 poster. It depicts three Mustangs, our Marque of the Year, in the car show at Schenley Park. Tom is a well known sports artist who has created hundreds of works for sports venues around the country – see his bio below for more details.

This poster art includes many of the icons that have become an annual part of each poster; the Cathedral of Learning, the Schenley Park golf course complete with snow fence and tents and, of course, race cars on the streets. But there is something very different about this poster, something that the PVGP has never done before…the featured cars are shown in the car show, not the race! Mustang is the Marque of the Year so naturally it is front and center. It was chosen to commemorate Mustang’s upcoming 50th anniversary. While Mustangs can be seen on the track during our Historic Races at PIRC and on the fairways at Schenley, they are not eligible to race in the Park. The street circuit of stone walls, curbs and poles is not conducive to American muscle cars. So the logical way to show Mustangs is where they will appear on the July 20/21 weekend…side by side on the manicured fairways!
